So I hear tell that the controversy over the Iona/RTÉ payout is all a load of twitter generated fury.
Funny that, because I decided to go out and see if I could find some flesh-and-blood people who would also have  a thing to say… and guess what, I did!

    I am disgusted and appalled by RTE’s handling of the interview with Rory O’Neil, aka Panti.

    The subsequent payout to those mentioned in Rory’s interwiew is disturbing in that it appears RTE is unwilling to permit anyone who challenges the written views of individuals who challenge their narrow minded and religious ethos doctrine.

    Gay marriage is the human rights issue of the decade and RTE’s action clearly demonstrate their inability to handle the robust discussions and viewpoints in this very human debate.

    Shame on you RTE! It’s very clear which individuals and think tanks carry sway in what people are allowed to express in critical and significant debates

    This is really bad taste. If you believe what you say, surely dialogue would go along way. Before this I considered supporting same-sex marriage but after seeing this frankly ugly campaign I will have to say no lads. Not this time.

    We are living in the 21st century. Its so sad that people still have an issue with gay people. Look back years ago when black people were used as slaves and how barbaric it was. In years to come people will look back and see how us gay people were treated. Not allowed to marry, when its straight people that are ruining the constitution of marriage. God loves us all, let us love who we want for we are not hurting anyone.

    Nice to see such a sophisticated level of discourse being arrayed against the nefarious Iona Institute. A great reflection on the (mostly) young people who contributed. Gives me hope for the future of this country.
